eDrive & Powertrain USA is located in Redford, Michigan. As a key developer of the ML450 Hybrid powertrain system, the organization amassed significant vehicle electrification competencies. In addition to designing and developing alternative powertrain systems for electrified vehicles, the group also designs and develops high voltage components for conventional powertrain vehicles. With an emphasis on the design and development of high voltage components, the organization also creates operating strategies, develops battery management software, and develops Electric Motor and Power Electronic components that drive a wide variety of Mercedes-Benz, smart, and Daimler branded conventional and electrified vehicles. MBRDNA-Redford is Daimler's North American center of competence for Electric Motor & Power Electronics design, development, and testing.
